Arson investigation underway in Trotwood

TROTWOOD, Ohio (WDTN) – Police are investigating a robbery and fire at the same residence in Trotwood.

Crews were called to the 1400 block Honeybee Drive around 3:44 a.m. Saturday on report of a garage fire.

When they arrived, they found a vehicle engulfed with flames.

The homeowner says his fiance and his five-year-old daughter were inside the home at the time and it comes just hours after the resident was robbed.

“I came home. My lights were off. I went through my house wondering why my lights were off. Circuit breakers were on. Got to my kitchen, realized my backdoor has been kicked in. Turned my phone light on and realized my TV was gone,” the homeowner told 2 NEWS.
