According to the report submitted by Dayton Police to the Ohio Department of Public Safety, the 29-year-old driver of the car that hit 11-year-old Makyla White last Wednesday did not have a valid driver’s license.

The accident report says Makyla crossed the street midblock before she was hit by the car and dragged about 100 feet.

Police do not suspect drugs or alcohol played a role and cite improper crossing as the cause of this accident.

2 NEWS is not naming the man who was driving because he has not been charged in the accident. We did, however, look into his driving record.

2 NEWS Investigates’ has learned through a search of public records the Dayton man has had at least 17 traffic citations since 2013, many involve driving without a valid license or driving under suspension. He’s had more than 20 violations since 2006.
