Brake for Breakfast event sets sights on early breast cancer detection

CENTERVILLE, Ohio (WDTN) — The fourth, and final, “Brake for Breakfast” event will take place early Wednesday.

The event happens from 6 a.m-10 a.m. at Miami Valley South Hospital near Wilmington Pike.

Organizers say the goal is for women to receive breast cancer research information, and to spread the word about getting a mammogram.

According to the American Cancer Society–each year, more than 40,000 women die from breast cancer; however, survival rates are better when detected early.

At the “Brake for Breakfast” event–anyone who stops by will receive a free breakfast in their car. They’ll also receive information on how to get a mammogram.

The address for today’s event is 2400 Miami Valley Dr. in Centerville. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
