WSU holds higher education panel, talks search for new president

FAIRBORN, Ohio (WDTN) – Wright State held a panel Wednesday to discuss higher education in the Buckeye State.

It was hosted by the university’s Presidential Search Committee.

The discussion focused on trends in education as well as the challenges and opportunities Wright State’s next president faces.

“I think it’s critical. We want to hire a president to succeed Dr. Hopkins that could lead Wright State into the future and we want to understand what that future might look like,” said Doug Fecher, Chair of Presidential Search Committee

The committee plans to present the presidential profile to the university’s Board of Trustees for approval in late October.

Wright State president David Hopkins will retire in June 2017. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
