Man reports someone fired a gun into his vehicle in Dayton

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – Police in Dayton are looking for the people involved in a shooting on Gettysburg Wednesday night.

The incident happened in the 800 block of S. Gettysburg Avenue around 7:00 Wednesday night.

According to a police report, a man driving south on South Gettysburg Avenue at Germantown Street was stopped at a light when a dark-colored sedan pulled up next to him.

The victim told police a man in the car in the right lane started yelling at him and asked, “Do you know where you are?” The victim told the suspect he had grown up in the area.

According to the report and a witness statement, the driver of the sedan then produced a gun and fired three shots into the SUV and fled west on Germantown Street.

The victim was not injured in the shooting but police found two bullet holes in the passenger doors and the rear passenger window was shot out.

Police do not have any other descriptions of the vehicle and were unable to find anything in the area.
