Ohio mom says she pulled rifle to save daughter from drugs

SALEM, Ohio (WKBN) – A mother told police she worried her daughter was getting into drugs so she went looking for her with a rifle.

Lisa Volio, 60, of Leetonia was charged with aggravated menacing and using weapons while intoxicated after she showed up at a house on Lincoln Avenue in Salem and threatened people there with a .22 caliber rifle, according to a police report.

According to the Morning Journal, Volio told police she was looking for her 36-year-old daughter and feared she was getting into drugs.

The incident happened about 9:20 p.m. Wednesday.

Volio appeared in Columbiana County Municipal Court on Thursday where she pleaded not guilty. Bond was set at $3,000. The case is scheduled for a pretrial hearing in December.
