Clayton Police officer hit by vehicle at Northmont High School

CLAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — A Clayton police officer was struck by a pickup truck in front of Northmont High School on Tuesday morning.

It happened around 7:40 a.m. on Tuesday in front of the school in the 4800 block of National Road in Clayton.

The officer was directing traffic to allow school buses for Northmont High School and Middle School to enter and exit the school grounds when he was hit by a driver in a Nissan pickup truck.

The officer hit the hood of the pickup truck and struck his head.

He was transported to a local hospital with reported non-life threatening injuries. The Ohio State Highway Patrol says the officer was conscious and alert when he was taken to the hospital. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
