SIDNEY, Ohio (WDTN) – The man who prosecutors say fired shots at a Shelby County Deputy Monday night faced a judge Wednesday morning.
Travis Wickline was arraigned on charges of attempted murder and felonious assault in Sidney Municipal Court Wednesday. Wickline faces one count of attempted murder, two counts of felonious assault, kidnapping and failure to comply with an order, all felonies.
The Shelby County Sheriff’s Office says they arrested Wickline after he stole a car from a woman at gunpoint at the Hidden Valley Trailer Park in Pasco.
Law enforcement began chasing Wickline, with speeds topping 100 miles per hour at times. A deputy stopped the vehicle and ordered Wickline to get out. He exited the stolen car and fired six shots at the deputy.
The deputy returned fire, shooting three times. No one was hit during the shooting. After several moments, Wickline got back in the stolen car and fled the scene.
