HARRISON TOWNSHIP, Ohio (WDTN) – Deputies are looking for the driver who crashed into a Harrison Township apartment building.

According to a press release, crews were dispatched to the 4600 block of Catalpa Drive after 4 a.m. Saturday on reports of a vehicle into a building.

Whey they arrived, they found the car all the way inside one apartment. The driver was missing.

Authorities say the driver was going north on Catalpa, failed to negotiate a curve at the intersection of Julia Avenue and ran into an apartment.

The resident  was able to crawl over the rubble and escape unharmed.

Fire crews rescued a pet and stopped a gas leak.

The report says witnesses saw a person running away from the scene.

The accident is under investigation; however, speed is a suspected factor in the crash.
