Sheriff no longer investigating reported child abduction in Washington Township

WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP, Ohio (WDTN) – The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office is no longer investigating a reported child abduction in Washington Township.

Deputies were called to the area of Washington Creek and Deep Forest Lane on reports of a possible abduction just around 4:44 p.m. Friday.

A witness told authorities an older White male grabbed a 10-year-old while he was riding his scooter down the street and put him in the back of a mini-van.

According to a press release, dispatch received a call just after 12:30 p.m. Saturday from a man saying he was the person the witness saw putting the boy in the van.

It turns out he was the boy’s father.
