WRIGHT-PATTERSON AIR FORCE BASE, Ohio (WDTN) – The medical center at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base was locked down Monday.
One person called the 2 NEWS Newsroom around 11 a.m. and said her husband sent her text message saying people in the Wright-Patterson Medical Center were told to shelter-in-place, and that he was okay. The woman called back later and told 2 NEWS her husband sent her a second message saying the ‘all-clear’ had been given.
2 NEWS contacted base officials who sent a written statement:
Earlier today, there was a report of a suspiciously dressed individual at the Wright-Patt Medical Center. In an abundance of caution, the facility was locked down and our highly-trained first responders were dispatched to investigate the situation. After investigation, it was determined that there was no threat posed to anyone and an “All Clear” message was given.”
