LAS VEGAS (KSNV) – A 15-year-old Las Vegas high school student has been arrested for allegedly plotting a mass shooting at Desert Oasis High School.

“The student did not appear to have any vendetta against any other students. At this point, it looks like he was acting alone and had made some plans that he was going to do a mass shooting in the near future,” said Clark County School District Police Captain Ken Young.

Police say the plans were thwarted because of an alert from a parent in Arizona who overheard a conversation between her child and another student.

That parent alerted Las Vegas law enforcement which then investigated and found out the threat was real.
