Springfield Police identify suspect in Race Street shooting

SPRINGFIELD, Ohio (WDTN) — Springfield Police have identified at least one suspect in a shooting on South Race Street.

Officers responded to a call around 11:50 p.m. on Tuesday night of a person shot in the 100 block of South Race Street.

When officers arrived on scene, they found a man with a gunshot wound.

The victim was taken to Springfield Regional Medical Center, then transported by CareFlight to Miami Valley Hospital. The victim’s condition is unknown.

This latest shooting investigation comes less than an hour after a man was shot at a home in the 400 block of West High Street in Springfield.

Police say they’ve identified at least one suspect in each of the shootings. Investigators aren’t saying if they’re looking for the same person or people in connection with both shootings.

No suspects are in custody at this time. The investigation into both shootings continues.
