FAIRBORN, Ohio (WDTN) – Deputies told 2 NEWS after reviewing the surveillance video from the gun range it’s still unclear how a woman shot herself Thursday.  Deputies said the camera was pointed to the woman’s back, so they were unable to determine if the self-inflicted gunshot wound was done intentionally.

Clark County deputies were dispatched to Fox Shooting Loft in Fairborn around 5 p.m.   Police records reveal a woman shot herself in the chest inside the gun range.

Deputies told 2 NEWS the woman was a customer that wasn’t familiar with the weapon.

The woman was taken to the hospital via Careflight and was listed in critical condition at Miami Valley Hospital.  She is expected to be ok.

The shooting remains under investigation.
