Halloween candy buy back sends treats to overseas troops

KNOXVILLE (WATE) – Children’s Dentistry of Knoxville held a Halloween candy buy back Sunday in order to send the sweets overseas to military members.

The dentistry offered one dollar per pound of unwrapped candy brought in.

“My kids kind of had a hard time deciding how much they were going to give away,” said Emily Hodges. “It really helped them learn things they can do and they earn a little bit of money for their bank.”

The buy back raised over 150 pounds of candy to send overseas.
