DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – A 89-year-old woman has been transported to the hospital after a three-vehicle accident. It happened this morning on Route 4 near Bath Road in Dayton.

Troopers on scene tell us that the 89-year-old woman pulled out across the lanes of traffic toward the median when she was hit by another driver. We know that driver is a woman in her early 40’s. A semi-truck then swerved, trying to avoid the accident and landed in the ditch.

Police tell us the 89-year-old was able to talk and was coherent as she was transported, the other drivers were okay.

Route 4 was closed at the time but has since reopened.
