DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – More than 5.4 million people cast ballots in Ohio in decision 2016.
That made for a 69.3 percent voter turnout in the state, which is down from four years ago, when turnout hit more than 70 percent, and slightly down from 2008.
Voter turnout in Montgomery County was similar to the state level — at 68.1 percent.
Those numbers mean a special Morris Home Furnishings promotion will not take effect.
The company said if 6 million Ohioans voted — furniture bought during a certain time period would’ve been free.
That’s $5 million in furniture sales.
Company management say they’re “very disappointed” in the voter turnout.
Details about its promotion can be found here.
