Trotwood man guilty of fatal bicyclist crash

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – Gregory Creech, 60, of Trotwood was found guilty Wednesday of one count of aggravated vehicular homicide and one count of misdemeanor OVI.

Creech was found guilty of driving his SUV southbound on James H. McGee Boulevard near the intersection of Philadelphia Drive in Dayton on Dec. 10, 2015 when he struck and killed 58-year-old Darryl Lynch of Dayton.

Lynch was struck from behind. He was dragged by Creech’s vehicle approximately 100 feet after the impact.

Creech was found to have cocaine, Fentanyl, and morphine in his system at the time of the crash, according to Montgomery County Prosecuting Attorney Mat Heck.

Creech remains in custody and is being held on a $250,000 bond. He will be sentenced at 2 p.m. Nov. 22.  He faces a mandatory driver’s license suspension from 3 years to life, as well as a possible sentence of up to 5 years in prison.
