Victim in Trotwood shooting dies; identified

TROTWOOD, Ohio (WDTN) – A shooting in Trotwood turns deadly.

The Montgomery County Coroner’s office has identified the victim as 48-year-old Harold Smith of Trotwood.

The shooting happened in the 5400 block of West Third Street just after 4 a.m. Saturday.

Police say they found Smith with a gunshot wound to his chest.

He was taken to Miami Valley Hospital where he later died.

Police are still looking for the suspect they say drove away in a silver, 4-door car.
