DAYTON, Ky. (WLWT)  — A Dayton, Kentucky, prisoner escaped police custody Monday afternoon at a Northern Kentucky hospital, officials said.

Walter Hundley, 43, escaped custody around 3:30 p.m. at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Fort Thomas.

Officials said Hundley is from Lexington, but was being held by Dayton police on a wanton endangerment charge.

He was last seen wearing blue jeans and a gray hooded sweatshirt, officials said. Police said they do not believe that he is armed.

It is unclear how Hundley was able to elude police, or why he was at the hospital.

Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to call 911.
