BEAVERCREEK, Ohio (WDTN) – The family of a missing hiker is still searching for answers one month after their son was reported missing in Washington state.
34-year-old Kris Fowler is a Beavercreek native and a Wright State grad–who’s been hiking on the Pacific Crest Trail since May, but his family started to get a concerned in October when they didn’t hear from him for several days.
This was the last picture taken of Fowler on October 12th.
Both sightings were reporting in Yakima County, Washington. Fowler’s step-mom Sally Fowler says Kris was planning on wrapping up his trip before now and says it wouldn’t be unlike him to extend his stay.
“We do know when he was heading out that day he was having phone charger trouble,” Fowler said. “However he had texted earlier so he might still have had somewhat of a signal, but he’s never reached out to anyone that we are aware of and there’s been no ping.”
Sally and her family just returned from Washington a few days ago empty handed. But she has hope flyers she distributed throughout the area will will help in finding him.
