Fatal weekend shooting victim ID’d

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – The man shot over the weekend has been identified Thursday.

John Madden III, 24, of Dayton, was pronounced dead Monday following the shooting on Saturday. He was taken to Miami Valley Hospital — as he was an organ donor. His body arrived at the coroner’s office Thursday afternoon.

Police were called to the shooting around 7 p.m. in the 2300 block of Salem Avenue Saturday.

Police are working to learn more about the incident. If you have any information, you’re asked to call Dayton police.
