Woman hospitalized after crash near Arcanum

ARCANUM, Ohio (WDTN) — A West Alexandria woman was hospitalized after a single-vehicle crash near Arcanum on Wednesday night.

The Darke County Sheriff’s Office says the accident happened around 10:45 p.m. on US 127, south of Arcanum Hollansburg Road.

Deputies say 37-year-old Jena Garland was driving south on US 127 when her car went off the right side of the road, before hitting a mailbox and a utility pole.

Law enforcement had to remove Garland from her vehicle. She was airlifted to Miami Valley Hospital where she is considered stable.

The Darke County Sheriff’s Office is continuing to investigate the crash. Tri-Village Rescue, Tri-Village Fire, and the Arcanum Police Department and Lifeline assisted at the scene.
