DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – Police were called to a Dayton Taco Bell after a report that a man overdosed in the restroom.

The incident happened just after 7:00 Thursday night.

44-year-old Clayton Crider was found slumped over a toilet in the bathroom by officers. A police report says Crider was not cooperative and became combative when police tried to handcuff him.

The report says officers saw evidence in the bathroom of an uncapped needle and were concerned the needle could be used as a weapon.

A Dayton Police Officer then tried to place Crider in handcuffs so he could then search for the needle. According to the report, Crider refused to comply and slammed a stall door shut. Crider tried to run away. The officer then deployed his Taser. Crider fell to the floor and hit his head on the door jam.

The officer was then able to place Mr. Crider in handcuffs. Crider was taken to Grandview Hospital.

A search of the bathroom found an uncapped needle and empty gel caps near a toilet where Crider was found. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
