DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – Police were called to the Belle Haven Elementary School after a report of a student assaulting a teacher.

The incident happened around 11:30 Thursday morning.

According to a police report, the student told police her teacher pushed her down so she punched the teacher in the face.

The teacher told police the juvenile was arguing with another student and she stepped in to remove the other student away from the juvenile. The teacher then said the juvenile threw a dictionary at the student and attacked the teacher while she was taking the other student out of the classroom.

Officers asked the juvenile why she punched the teacher and the juvenile replied, “because I was angry,” according to the report.

The juvenile was taken to the Montgomery County Juvenile Justice Center on charges of felony assault.
