(WCNC) More than 6,000 acres continue to burn in North Carolina’s South Mountain State Park as firefighters try to control the flames.
Firefighters estimate the wildfire is about 30-percent contained.
Flames barely missed Phil Church’s house in the nearby Enola community.
“I’m feeling really good right now because it’s not burning too high,” Church said. “I know we’ll be relieved when it gets past us at this point.”
