(NBC) – A hot holiday toy may be to blame for a truck fire in Washington state, prompting a recall.
Grandparents scored a Tonka 12V Ride-On Dump Truck from Toys “R” Us as a Christmas present for their grandson on Friday night. But the toy apparently burst into flames as they headed home.
Toys “R” Us responded with an apology, a refund, and a recall of the toy. Saying in a statement, while this appears to be an isolated incident, the company is pulling the toy from shelves and the internet until the cause is determined.
Toys “R” Us statement:
“Although this appears to be an isolated incident, out of an abundance of caution we are implementing a stop-sale and pulling the item from our stores and Toysrus.com pending further investigation. In the meantime, we are working closely with Dynacraft, the manufacturer, to determine the cause.”
