Miami County Sheriff laid to rest

TROY, Ohio (WDTN) – The man who served Miami County as Sheriff for 28 years was laid to rest Tuesday.

Sheriff Charles Cox was buried with full military honors after a funeral in Tipp City.

Cox died November 10 in Hospice care. He was 71-years-old. The 1963 Piqua Central High School graduate served in the U.S. Army as a Sergeant during the Vietnam war. His career as sheriff began in 1988 and won re-election seven times.
