Pilots for major cargo company go on strike in Wilmington

WILMINGTON, Ohio — Pilots for ABX Air, which provides cargo services to companies like DHL and Amazon, have gone on strike in Wilimingtom.

Nearly 250 pilots are striking against their employer, ABX Air, according to a release.

In a release, a spokesperson for the pilots says they are striking because ABX was forcing them to work emergency shifts during scheduled time off. The spokesperson says that’s a violation of ABX’s contract with the pilots.

ABX provides 45 cargo flights a day for DHL. The strike could also disrupt services for Amazon customers.

Pilots are picketing outside the ABX Air headquarters in Wilmington and at the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky Airport.
