DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – Shoppers in the Miami Valley are encouraged to give big and shop small Saturday.

According to research from the United States Small Business Administration, the 28 million small businesses in America account for 54 percent of all U.S. sales.

The Downtown Dayton Partnership suggests beginning the day with brunch at a local restaurant then you can hit up the dozens of local businesses offering holiday deals–some even have live entertainment inside their shops.

Business leaders say buying from local, independent businesses helps the Dayton and Miami Valley economy.
