CINCINNATI, Ohio (WLWT) – Cincinnati Police have made an arrest in a hit-and-run accident that left a 3-year-old girl in critical condition.

Police arrested 22-year-old Donteiz Dickey of Reading. He’s being held without bond.

Dickey is expected to appear in court on Monday on two counts of aggravated vehicular homicide, as well as charges for not stopping after an accident.

Police say a family was crossing Vine Street in a crosswalk to the Festival of Lights at the Cincinnati Zoo when the accident happened around 9 p.m. on Saturday night.

According to police, Dickey was driving a 2012 Chevrolet Traverse when he ran a red light and hit a 3-year-old and her mother.

Dickey reportedly fled the scene and ditched the car nearby. Police said that speed appears to be a factor in this crash.

The girl, identified as Khloe Pitts, is at Children’s Hospital with life-threatening injuries and is listed in critical condition, police said. The mother, Joy White, was taken to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center and is in serious condition.
