ALBANY, GA (WCMH) — It was four years ago when Larry Tinson made a last second stop to Harvey’s Supermarket to pick up an item for Thanksgiving dinner, and ended up meeting his future wife.
Tinson, after returning home from a tour in Afghanistan, needed some cranberry sauce on Thanksgiving four years ago. While in the store, he saw Mary Tinson.
“I heard someone say ‘Hey girl’ and I turned around and said ‘Oh my God, Larry? I haven’t seen you in over twenty something years,” Mary told WALB.
The two soon began dating, and a few years later, the two decided it was time to get married.
“She asked me. She said ‘Where are we going to have our wedding at,’ and I said obviously where I met you at,” said Larry.
Staff at Harvey’s Supermarket helped Mary and Larry with the planning, the live music, and even with the wedding cake, topped with cranberries of course.
“On Thanksgiving I mean we all have things to be thankful for and we appreciate them allowing us to be a part of this special moment,” Ken Wicker, V.P. of Operations with Harvey’s told WALB.
Now, Thanksgiving will have even more of a special meaning for the couple.
“On Thanksgiving Day, he said what he wanted to do is to give thanks to the Lord for the old going out and the new coming in,” said Mary.
