Dayton woman arrested for soliciting while knowingly contracted with HIV

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – A Dayton woman is arrested after she was soliciting as a prostitute while knowing she is HIV positive.

Alysa Givens, 28, was arrested at the intersection of E. Third and Findlay on Nov 18.

She was formally indicted by the Montgomery County Grand Jury Monday on charges of engaging in soliciting after positive HIV test and loitering to engage in solicitation after a positive HIV test.

Givens was on probation for the same charge when she was arrested.

According to investigators, Givens was not caught with a client but was out soliciting. officers arrived and saw her soliciting — hanging out on the corner

Givens was first charged with this offense in March 2015. Officials say she has previously been charged with misdemeanors.

She is currently being held at the Montgomery County Jail and will be arraigned at 8:30 a.m. on Thursday.
