Dayton Police investigating triple shooting, one dead

Dayton Police investigate a fatal shooting on Victor Avenue.

DAYTON (WDTN) — The Montgomery County Coroner has identified the victim in Tuesday morning’s deadly shooting in Dayton.

The Coroner’s Office identifies the victim as 40-year-old John Dixon from Dayton.

Police responded to a shooting call just before 2 a.m. on Tuesday in the 100 block of Victor Avenue.

When officers arrived, they found three people wounded. Dixon was pronounced dead at the scene.

Another man and a woman were taken to Miami Valley Hospital. The man had critical injuries, while the woman had serious injuries.

Police say they don’t have suspect information yet or a motive. According to police, there had been drug complaints at the home in the past.

There were other people inside the home at the time of the shooting, including two children. One woman hid in a basement, but came out when police arrived.
