BALTIMORE, MD (WCMH) – A seven-year-old boy was hospitalized with a broken jaw after, his mother says, a school tutor threw him against a wall.
WBFF reports Baltimore City Schools, school police and Baltimore City Police are all investigating to see if the tutor will face charges.
Lateekqua Jackson tells WBFF that her son Trayvon has a fractured jaw, two missing teeth and another pushed into his gums.
Jackson said, “I sent him to school thinking he was going to learn and be protected in their custody. And no one was there to protect him. They couldn’t even tell me where my son was. He was on the floor bleeding, knocked out, didn’t know what happened.”
The tutor, is employed by Baltimore Curriculum Project, the charter operator of the elementary school. He allegedly told police that he removed the student from class for being disruptive.
He was allegedly carrying him out of the room when, according to reports, he lost his footing and Trayvon “hit himself” on the wall.
Baltimore City Schools said in a statement:
“We are working with BCP to cooperate fully in the police investigation of the incident and will take any action warranted once the investigation is complete.”
