Woman hit and killed by train in Dayton

DAYTON (WDTN) — A woman was struck and killed by a train in Dayton on Tuesday night.

Police say it happened just after 9:30 p.m. on Tuesday at train tracks on North Irwin Street near East Monument Avenue.

Officers responded to a call of a pedestrian struck and found a woman dead at the scene.

Police did not release information about whether the woman was walking on the tracks or trying to cross when she hit.

The Montgomery County Coroner is expected to release the victim’s identity later on Wednesday.
