DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – Ridesharing companies have become popular in the past few years, and now Dayton will become the latest city for the company Lyft.

The ridesharing company Uber has already been giving patrons lifts in Dayton.

Lyft will begin transportation services around noon on Thursday throughout the Dayton area.

With the use of its free app in the Google Play Store or AppStore, it matches you with local drivers in your area at the tap of a button.

How Lyft Works:

  1. Request: Whether you’re riding solo or with friends, you’ve got options. Tap to request Lyft or Lyft Plus (a larger vehicle to accommodate more).
  2. Ride: Get picked up by the best. Our reliable drivers will get you where you need to go.
  3. Pay: When the ride ends, just pay and rate your driver through your phone.

Kicking off the launch, passengers will be able to use the code “DAYTON2016” to receive $5 off their first Lyft ride.
