COLUMBUS, Ohio (WDTN) – The bill restricting abortions after 20 weeks has passed in The House.
Senate Bill 127, or ‘Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act’ passed 64-29 Thursday evening and it’s now on the way to Ohio Governor John Kasich’s desk.
This is the second of two abortion bills approved by the general assembly this week. The more restrictive piece of legislation is House Bill 69 or the so-called ‘Heartbeat Bill’ — which passed Tuesday night — would ban abortion after a fetal heartbeat is detected, which can be as early as six weeks into a pregnancy..
It is now up to Kasich to determine which bill to sign into law — he has 10 days to make his decision.
