Brandy McClellan (Miami County Jail).

PIQUA, Ohio (WDTN) – A woman was found unresponsive in a bathroom after allegedly huffing air duster while a child slept nearby in the residence.

It happened Monday in the 400 block of North Main Street in Piqua.

Brandy R. McClellan, 25, of Piqua, is charged with a first-degree misdemeanor child endangering and fifth-degree felony abusing harmful intoxicants in connection with this incident. She was arraigned Tuesday.

A landlord contacted police after having a meeting scheduled with McClellan to sign a lease agreement and finding the child seemingly alone in the residence, according to Miami County Municipal Court records, obtained by our partners at the Piqua Daily Call. The landlord was not able to contact McClellan, but police later reportedly found her in a bathroom.

A squad responded to the scene. McClellan was found with a 10-ounce can of Ultra Duster Industrial Strength, according to reports. She became responsive while medics were on scene and claimed she was having an asthma attack and denied any wrongdoing, according to the Piqua Daily Call.

She was taken to Upper Valley Medical Center for further treatment. The child, who is reportedly less than a year old, was taken into the care of relatives.

McClellan has been convicted of abusing harmful intoxicants in Miami County in August 2012 and January of this year, as well as in Montgomery County in January 2015.

She is currently being held at the Miami County Jail on $4,000 bond.
