DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – Five people are in jail after an armed robbery early Saturday.
Dayton police arrived on the 600 block of Cosler Drive after a report of a suspicious vehicle.
Police say they knocked on the door first but it was slammed in their faces leading up to that standoff.
A stolen car parked down the street from the home on Cosler led Dayton police to the scene.
“We got a call about a suspicious vehicle. That was the victims vehicle. We got a call on that and crews came on the scene and ran the registration and discovered it was the stolen vehicle,” said Dayton Police Sgt. Steven Bauer.
After about 30 minutes of police surrounding the home, the five suspects walked out.
Bauer says two of those suspects are connected to an armed robbery.
“It seems like the victims possibly knew the suspects in this,” said Bauer.
Police are working to piece together what happened.
“They are being question right now by detectives. We are waiting on a search warrant for the residence,” said Bauer.
