Man dead after shooting in Harrison Township identified

HARRISON TOWNSHIP, Ohio (WDTN) – Police are investigating a reported accidental shooting that left a man dead in Harrison Township.

Officers were called to the 2100 block of Claggett Drive around 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

A woman called 911 and said she accidentally shot her boyfriend. Police say she claimed the man was threatening to commit suicide. She said she was trying to get the gun away from him when it went off, killing him.

The Montgomery County Coroner’s Office identified the victim as 32-year-old Peter Underwood.

Police took the woman in for questioning. The shooting is under investigation.
