$1 million bond for alleged Middletown bar shooter

MIDDLETOWN, Ohio (AP) — The man accused of opening fire at a Middletown bar is being held on $1 million bond.

27-year-old Malcolm Jamal Franklin is charged with murder and three counts of felonious assault.

Police arrested Franklin in connection with a deadly shooting on Tuesday morning.

The shooting happened around 1:45 a.m. on Tuesday at D&J Nite Spot on Elliot Drive.

Police say 23-year old Julian Marquis Johnson was killed and another woman was hurt in the shooting. Police believe a third victim ran from the scene.

Investigators are trying to find witnesses who will cooperate.
