DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — The Montgomery County Coroner’s Office has released the identity of a man found dead behind a Dayton apartment building.

The Coroner’s Office says 57-year-old Edward J. Morrison from Dayton was found dead. An examination has been performed and more information on Morrison’s death is expected later on Friday.

Dayton Police say Morrison’s death is considered suspicious.

Homicide detectives are investigating Morrison’s death, after his body was found just after 6 a.m. on Friday in the 1900 block of Riverside Drive.

First responders found his body after someone called police. Morrison was pronounced dead at the scene.

Morrison reportedly lived in the apartment building and people in the area knew him.

Police say Morrison had a wound to the back of his head, that may have been caused by a fall.

Witnesses say they heard an argument around 11:30 p.m. on Thursday night. No one heard gunshots, and Morrison’s body wasn’t found until early on Friday morning.

No shell casings have been found at the scene, but the investigation is ongoing.
