Sheriff: Planned riot foiled at county jail

WARREN  COUNTY, Ohio (WDTN) –  The Warren County Sheriff said Tuesday his deputies prevented a riot at the county jail.

According to deputies at the Warren County Jail, they received word just before 6:00 pm Tuesday inmates were planning a riot inside the jail.

Local law enforcement from across Warren County was called in to help but the Warren County Sheriff, Larry Sims, says the riot did not happen.

Sims says the swift response from local law enforcement including Lebanon Police Department, Mason Police Department and Morrow Police Department; Warren County Sheriff’s Deputies and the Jails Emergency Response Team brought things under control before there was any act of violence.
