Crowns: More than a hat, it is history

Hats. We wear them as a fashion statement. We wear them to keep warm. We wear them to separate our sports team from theirs. Hat wearers are proud and not afraid to show off their style. Some women wear them as proudly as a queen who wears her crown. African-American women wear the ornate, brightly colored ‘crown’ as a symbol of their rich, cultural history.
