I cannot believe I’m already a month in! My long runs are now right around 8-10 miles, and during the week I’m running anywhere from 12 to 16 miles in total. However, I must admit, this past week I didn’t feel good and didn’t meet my weekly goals. Also, this muggy weather is not helping! I am trying to get out early to beat the heat and humidity, but it comes on quickly. How do you beat the heat?
I am really having to talk myself through the last few miles of each longer run, and remind myself that this is training and it’s not going to get any easier if I don’t see it through. It’s tough though. I’m feeling fatigue in my thighs and lungs.
Also, may I introduce you to a tired leg’s archenemy: the uneven sidewalk.
I have had a few trips, but nothing serious. Although, I have recently fallen flat while running and thankfully the only thing bruised was my ego! It is a lesson to maintain good form and not let your legs, ankles and feet get sloppy.
