I used to be cool.

I’m a now minivan mom and I’m just gonna own it.

I caved. I sold my soul to the devil himself (actually my husband did all the legwork and brought it home for us and he’s awesome and deserves major credit) and I’m okay with this choice!

First things first … the van is not that bad!

Turns out, the window shades ARE legit, it DOES have a great speaker system, and that automatic sliding door is an actual improvement of my entire life. They’re in, they’re out, and I don’t have to do a darn thing but press a button.

The one downside to this new vehicle is that absolutely no one is allowed to eat or drink in it, until, well never. No one can ever do that EVER.
**Next week I’ll probably be too tired to care, but for now it seems like an excellent decision.

Why blue?
Because so many people have gray or black and I (admittedly) lose my car a lot in the parking lot. This blue felt cheery, like looking up at a pretty blue sky and it made me feel 1% better about the whole thing. It also matches my current nail color, which is clearly important.

Why Honda?
Good safety ratings. Good price. Sold.

Why didn’t we get the DVD player?
Honestly? I’m OVER the screen time. They can look at trees and pester me with “Are we there yet” and talk to each other instead.

Why did I give in?
Because at this stage in my life I need convenience. In fact, I crave it. If there is a gadget that will make my life easier, I want it.
For instance, these tea buddies found here … I’ve got three. They keep my tea warmer longer, but I digress.

Bottom line, I am at peace with the minivan decision. So, if you see me at a stoplight, don’t feel bad for me. Don’t think “Oh gosh what is she even doing driving that THING?” Truth is, I’m happy driving a minivan because I’m toting around a few of my favorite things.

Also, I have actual juice boxes and soccer equipment in my minivan. So, there’s that.
